Function Introduction

Smart Freeze automatically freezes apps when the screen turns off or when an app is removed from recent tasks.

Instructions

First, click the + button on the top right to add the apps you want to freeze to the list below. The app will be frozen immediately.

Main

The list shows all apps with smart freeze enabled. Apps currently in the frozen state will display black and white icons, while unfrozen apps will display colored icons.

You can tap on list items to directly launch the target app. Thanox will unfreeze and start the app.

Freezing Methods

  • PM Disable

PM disable is the most commonly used freezing method. This is a feature provided by the Android system that can "deactivate" an application; when using this method to "freeze" an app, the frozen app's desktop icon will disappear and can only be launched through the Smart Freeze page, created shortcuts, or proxy apps.

  • Suspend,

Suspend is a function provided for DPC management by Android; suspended apps usually retain a gray icon on the desktop, but you cannot directly launch the app's activities. Usually a dialog will pop up indicating that this application is restricted by administrator (Android system behavior). You can enable the "Detect and Unfreeze" switch for the app. That way, Thanox detects requests to launch the app's activity and unfreezes the app.

Method

Automatically Enable Detect and Unfreeze

"Detect and Unfreeze" is shorthand for "detecting an app's activity launch request then unfreezing the app", abbreviated as "DOL" in English. DOL serves the purpose of automatic unfreezing. When you start a smart-frozen app from the desktop or another app, Thanox automatically unfreezes the App, so you don't have to manually unfreeze it yourself.

Therefore, the "Automatically Enable Detect and Unfreeze" switch serves to automatically enable DOL for newly added smart frozen apps.
